Bosch and Tsinghua University Strengthen AI Partnership
Bosch invests a further 50 million CYN (approx. 6 million euros) in the extension of the cooperation on the joint Tsinghua-Bosch Joint Research Center for Machine Learning.
Bosch and Tsinghua University are expanding their collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). Bosch is investing an additional 50 million CNY (approximately 6 million EUR) to extend the partnership for another five years. This collaboration, centered around the Tsinghua-Bosch Joint Research Center on Machine Learning, aims to revolutionize AI in the industrial sector.
“AI is transforming every aspect of society and business. At Bosch, we are determined to push the boundaries of industrial AI,” said Prof. Thomas Kropf, President of Corporate Sector Research and Advance Engineering at Bosch. “Through close collaboration with Tsinghua University, we aim to accelerate AI innovations and quickly bring them into real-world applications.”
AI achievements at the Joint Research Center
Since its inception in March 2020, the Joint Research Center has been a powerhouse of innovation. With over a hundred papers published at top conferences and numerous patents filed, the center has made significant strides in AI research. Some of these breakthroughs are already being used in Bosch’s product development and manufacturing.

Bosch’s Commitment to AI
Bosch Research is at the heart of the company’s technological innovation, employing around 1,800 experts worldwide. In China alone, about 100 research specialists are dedicated to AI, electrification, autonomous driving, and more. Since 2023, all Bosch products either contain AI or have been developed or manufactured with its help.
